How to obtain your WA State Instruction (Learner’s) Permit

Login to your DOL License eXpress account.  (dol.wa.gov)

1)  If you are able to get your permit online, you will find the option “Get your permit” on your homepage.
2)  If that option is not there, you will need to visit a DOL office in person to get your permit.  There is a link on your homepage to make an appointment. Make sure to read the “Proof of Identity” information before you go, so you bring all the correct documents you will need.

Once you get your permit, you can start driving at home with a licensed driver (at least 5 years experience) in the passenger seat next to you.  Or you can schedule lessons with Xcelerate!  See our Adult Driver’s page for more info.
